A black floor and a white ceiling in the interior is a classic technique that is used, without exaggeration, everywhere.
If you decide to choose this option, you definitely won’t go wrong, but, according to the expert of the online publication “BelNovosti”, designer Yulia Tychino , you can also experiment by trying the opposite solution – use light linoleum or laminate as a floor covering, and paint the ceiling black.
Visually, this will increase the height of the walls, and the black ceiling will seem to dissolve into space, which is why designers often use this solution in small bathrooms.
A black ceiling has other advantages too.
1. It can tie together all the black elements in the room, thus creating a complete composition.
2. It will highlight the decor on the ceiling, for example, architectural details, stucco or a crystal chandelier.
3. Hide visual noise. If there are ventilation pipes on the ceiling or its height is not suitable for a tension structure, painting the ceiling black will help make the communications less noticeable.
4. Can be used to highlight an area. If your apartment has an open plan, using a black ceiling (no matter glossy or matte) you can divide it into a living room, bedroom and kitchen without partitions.
