France is associated not only with croissants and the Eiffel Tower, but also with the impeccable taste of its inhabitants.
Expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino, believes that we should learn from the French in interior design, because they are able to turn even tiny apartments into a real work of art.
Empty walls make a room look dull and featureless. The French are aware of this feature and therefore often decorate the walls of their homes with art objects or hand-made things.
A small apartment has its advantages – for example, you have the opportunity to use luxurious natural materials in the interior design, and since you won’t need many of them, you will be able to save a decent amount of money. Consider natural wood floors in the hallway, marble tiles in the bathroom and a stone countertop in the kitchen.
Everyone knows that small apartments are best decorated in light colors to visually increase their space. The French, known for their love of lightness, airiness, panoramic windows and furniture on thin graceful legs, also adhere to this opinion. At the same time, they are not afraid to make their apartment too sterile or cold, because they use a warm and soft shade of white - milky. The second color is usually cozy beige, deep gray or natural brown.
The French are known for their emotionality, which is reflected in their interiors – to make their homes “sensual”, they add a lot of textures to their interiors. Stone, glass, metal and knitted textiles – against a background of neutral colors they always look very impressive.
One of the main problems in studio apartments is storage. If there is a storage room or a balcony, they can be converted into a wardrobe. If there is none, you will have to look for other solutions. You can order a built-in wardrobe along the entire wall, which will match the color of the wall and blend in with it, or use drawers built into the sofa, shelves attached to the walls, etc. for storage.
Earlier, the expert named the colors in the interior that can cause depression.
