Living in a two-room apartment may seem cramped, but with the right organization of space, it can be lived in comfortably.

It is important to skillfully use every corner and plan the interior so that it is functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Yulia Tychino, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" in the field of design and interior, told how to plan the interior of a two-room apartment.

First of all, you should optimally distribute the area of the apartment. It is better to make one room a bedroom, and the other - a living room.

If the layout allows, you can allocate a small area in the living room for the kitchen. To visually divide the space, use different color schemes, furniture, and decor.

A very important point is lighting. In a small apartment, you need to use natural light as much as possible.

Do not cover the windows with heavy curtains, choose light colors in the interior. Place additional light sources so that they illuminate the entire room well.

To use space rationally, give preference to transformable furniture and multifunctional items.

For example, a fold-out sofa will save space during the day and turn into a full-size bed at night. The table can be made foldable, and drawers can be built into the closet.

Built-in storage systems - racks, shelves, drawers - will be an excellent solution.

Use niches, ceiling space, corners for this. Store things you don't use often in boxes under the bed or sofa.

In the kitchen, optimize space with compact appliances, corner shelves, and pull-out drawers.

You can use the wall above the tabletop for hanging shelves. Avoid large furniture in favor of a table and transformable chairs.

Don't clutter the interior with a large number of small decorative items - this will visually "eat up" the space. Focus on one or two decorative details in each room.

To visually expand the space of a two-room apartment, use the following techniques:

• Light, neutral tones in wall and ceiling decoration. Dark colors are best used locally, for accent walls.

• Mirrors. Place them opposite windows or in narrow spaces between rooms.

• Light, transparent furniture. For example, glass tables, chairs with open backs.

• High legs on furniture. This will visually lighten the interior.

• No partitions. If the layout allows, make the space as open as possible.

• Plants. Greenery always enlivens the interior and adds visual volume.

The main thing is not to be afraid to experiment and be creative. With the help of non-standard solutions, you can turn a cramped apartment into a cozy nest.
