A stretch ceiling solves a lot of problems and simplifies repairs. But what about the kitchen?
This is actually a great solution if you choose the right material. There is a lot to think about here, as you can choose matte, glossy, satin or fabric material.
Yulia Tychino, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" in the field of design and interior, told us what material to choose for a stretch ceiling in the kitchen.
A controversial point. It is believed that glossy PVC ceilings are a thing of the past.
Matte really does look more elegant, fits into any color scheme, and there are many shades of white that are easily visible on a matte surface.
However, glossy materials help out when there is a lack of natural light due to better light reflection. But such a coating will have to be washed more often and more thoroughly.
All stains and dirt will be visible on a shiny ceiling.
Satin canvases are worth choosing for those who cannot decide which coating to choose – matte or glossy.
Otherwise it is the same PVC material.
Fabric ceilings look original and fit perfectly into classic and any modern interior.
However, this is not the best solution for the kitchen, because it will not be easy to maintain such a surface.
In addition, a fabric ceiling does not protect against flooding, which most often occurs in the kitchen or bathroom.
