Why You Shouldn't Install a Sink Under a Window: A Decision Many Regret
Many apartment owners, when renovating their kitchens, take advantage of the opportunity to move the sink and quite often place it right under the window.
Expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino, spoke about the pros and cons of such a decision.
First, the good news. This type of sink placement allows you to enjoy the view from the window while doing your housework.
Besides that, in such a situation you can hope for good natural light. That's all, actually.
However, this solution has many more disadvantages.
1. If you want the view of the "sights" opening from the window to bring only positive emotions, the window will definitely need to be washed from the outside. The more often, the better.
2. You will also need to wash the glass from the inside, because drops will inevitably fall on it while washing dishes.
3. Get ready for unpleasant smells: as you know, there is a trash can hidden in the cabinet under the sink, which in this case will certainly heat up due to the radiator located behind.
4. And the last disadvantage is that it often happens that a sink located near a window prevents the window sashes from opening and, accordingly, closing.
