Creating a stylish and modern interior becomes impossible if outdated furniture is used for this purpose – such as, for example, wall units from the 90s.
An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino, explained why such structures are considered out of fashion and what option will successfully replace them.
Thus, imitation of valuable wood species from laminated chipboard is definitely not relevant in old walls.
In addition, such structures often combine different shades of wood, which is another disadvantage.
You shouldn’t be fooled by facades richly decorated with carvings and milling.
Finally, cabinets with different depths and open shelves arranged randomly have long been out of fashion.
Instead, designers insist on purchasing a built-in wardrobe that would take up the entire wall. Thanks to this little trick, the furniture will not look bulky, but will remain just as spacious.
When choosing a massive wardrobe, make sure that all its sections are at the same depth, without protruding forward, and that the laconic facades are painted in deep or neutral colors.
Don't forget to leave space for the TV - there should be "air" around the device, that is, free space that would not be occupied by shelves. This will make it more convenient to enjoy watching movies, and the room will look more aesthetically pleasing.
