When It's Right to Replace Kitchen Cabinets With Open Shelves: This Might Be the Case for You

It’s hard to say that open shelves are to everyone’s liking.

According to the expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", designer Yulia Tychino , one of the reasons that can explain such "dislike" is that such structures always need to be kept clean, which means that they are much more fuss in terms of cleaning.

In addition, not all the dishes found in the average kitchen have a presentable appearance.

Hence the problem - what to put on such shelves if there are no antiques or family heirlooms available?

However, it can also be the other way around – when the interior simply begs to replace the usual kitchen set with open shelves.

For example, you can't do without them when there are window openings above the kitchen (we are not talking about apartments with their standard layout, but primarily about private houses). In such a situation, the upper cabinets will block the light. Moreover, there is simply nowhere to hang them.

Don't miss the opportunity to place open shelves in the kitchen if there are niches here - such spaces are literally created to be filled with shelves.

Finally, open shelves will be a real salvation if you have a very small kitchen.

As a rule, in such a situation there are few dishes, and those that are there are constantly in use, so there is no point in reaching into the cupboard for them every time.
