In a narrow rectangular room there are not many options for arranging furniture tastefully.
One can only dream of some original solution. Most often it turns out that along one long wall there is cabinet furniture, and along the other – upholstered furniture. But there are better options.
Here are some of these original solutions.
Experts advise abandoning the old idea of placing furniture along longitudinal walls.
It is better to divide the room into zones: work and rest area. This can be done with the help of armchairs or a sofa, add a rug, but not a rack.
Also, do not install furniture around the perimeter or in the corners. This arrangement makes the room feel cramped.
You can use the center and the space near the wall, but there should be no effect of cluttered space.
Furniture should be placed asymmetrically. Otherwise, it will emphasize the geometry of the room. Again, you can zone the room, place chairs diagonally, shift the conventional center of the room, and so on.
There should be no empty spaces that resemble a corridor. But there should also be no unnecessary furniture in the room. In other words, the narrower and more elongated the room, the more effort you need to make it look square.
Don't forget that in addition to furniture, you need to actively use color and light.
