How to Use Space in a Long Hallway: Design Tricks

A long corridor in an apartment can ruin anyone's mood. As a rule, this room is gloomy, narrow, and you don't want to leave the area unused.

For this case, designers have several practical solutions that fit perfectly into the interior of any room.

1. The simplest and most minimalistic scenario is to use the hallway as an art gallery. You can hang photos, works of art, art objects, etc. on the walls.

2. If the room is decorated in a classic style, then the corridor should even be slightly lengthened with the help of design solutions (lower the ceiling). This same trick can visually make the apartment more spacious.

3. You can do the opposite – “raise” the ceiling, and then the corridor will seem shorter. For this, you can use color solutions or lighting design.

4. Another option is to make the corridor wider using mirrors, laying the flooring in a transverse line or in a herringbone pattern, diagonally.

5. Another option is to organize a library in the hallway. Not a reading room, but to install bookcases or shelves for storage.

This way you can save space in your living rooms and unclutter them by removing all unnecessary furniture.
