Imitation brickwork is a fairly popular interior design solution, which can most often be seen when decorating a hallway.

Expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino shared instructions on how to create such a wall without the help of specialists. As it turned out, there is nothing complicated about it.

The first thing you need to do is to strip the walls of any previously applied coating down to the plaster layer.

The next step is to thoroughly prime the surface. After this stage, as a rule, at least 12 hours should pass, during which the walls have time to dry.

Now you can start marking and applying masking tape. The future bricks may be perfectly even, or they may not correspond to the same parameters, and this, you must admit, has its own zest.

When everything is ready, start preparing the composition for the future brickwork. From the existing variety of options, we suggest you take 2 parts of plaster and 1 part of tile adhesive. At this stage, a construction mixer will come in handy.

Apply the resulting mixture to the wall and after a while, pressing and lifting the spatula, make the surface textured. Do not forget to cut off sharp protrusions with the same spatula so that they do not cause inconvenience in the future.

All that remains is to wait until the material dries properly (this takes about a day), after which you should apply the primer again, wait until it dries, and you can start painting.
