How to save on repairs: a proven trick from designers

If you, like any other thrifty owner, would like to make the cost of repairs a little lower, we have one useful life hack for this.

As Yulia Tychino, an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, explains, you can save on finishing.

First of all, let us remind you: you should start this stage when you know the exact location of the furniture.

To do this, go through all the rooms with the painters, using a marker to make marks on those walls that “fall out” of the final finish.

This category includes walls that will later house the kitchen front, as well as walls where you plan to place built-in cabinets, shelving (with a back), and walls that will be paneled, upholstered, etc.

Since these areas will be permanently closed, they do not need to be covered with finishing paint (by the way, some people prefer not to paint at all, but experts still recommend applying a finish in the form of white paint to the walls) or non-woven wallpaper.

But, despite the fact that the walls will be hidden from your eyes forever, you shouldn’t skimp on plaster.

In addition, the list of mandatory operations that cannot be ignored includes putty and primer.
