An expert explained which shades should be avoided when renovating an apartment, so as not to make the home too gloomy or feminine.

Designer and architect Alexander Osipov named the colors that can “kill” an interior.

Pink

Osipov pointed out that the fashion for unusual and bold shades is fleeting. Therefore, the expert advises to avoid such colors. These include bright pink. According to him, such a shade makes the home more feminine, Lenta reports.

The designer noted that the use of pink is only acceptable in the bedroom, but not always. The specialist recommended that those who want to make the interior more delicate should take a closer look not at pink, but at pastel and its shades.

Brown

Osipov emphasized that the dominance of brown can "weigh down" the space, giving it gloom. The effect is multiplied in cases where the room faces north, where the least amount of natural light reaches.

The expert advised those who want to make the interior darker to opt for a dark blue shade.

Black

According to the expert, this color is often appropriate, especially its individual inclusions. However, the predominance of black shades envelops the space in gloom and visually reduces the footage.

The expert also noted that dark colors have a negative impact on the psyche. The designer advised choosing shades that lift the mood, help to think optimistically, and promote creativity.

The situation is similar with the grey colour, which resembles a cloudy sky. “Not the best solution,” the designer emphasized.

Neon colors

The expert emphasized that such colors are not suitable for apartments and houses. According to the specialist, neon color is relevant for hotels, restaurants, cafes, galleries. Osipov explained that these shades are intrusive, distract from everyday affairs.

Red

The designer said that this color symbolizes aggression, excites the psyche and interferes with normal rest and sleep. The specialist advised using calmer shades. For brightness, the expert recommended complementing neutral colors with bright elements.
