Rarely does anyone today dare to use ordinary curtains instead of room doors. Once upon a time, this was a normal phenomenon. And in villages, curtains still hang instead of doors.
But stylists are not relenting and insist that this type of space design solution is not a thing of the past.
Curtains are suitable for rooms decorated in a classic or neoclassical style. In this case, they try to choose a single-color fabric, but it is time to refuse frills, ruffles and lambrequins. Curtains can decorate light rooms decorated in a rustic or Scandinavian style.
This way you can divide the space, especially if the residents are crazy about eco-style or "retro" interiors. However, their purpose is purely decorative. You won't be able to hide behind them from prying eyes, but you won't have to wash them like tulle or curtains.
Curtains that look like hanging macaroni (muslin) have been around since Soviet times. They are also suitable for a doorway, but only if they are without too much glitter, beads and rhinestones.
When choosing such curtains, it is important to consider the length and width. Too short curtains will look comical, long ones will get tangled underfoot and collect dust. Ideally, you can leave a gap of no more than 1-2 centimeters.
As for the width, some people like tight folds. At the same time, stretched fabric looks lighter and less pompous.
