Plasterboard Ceilings: What to Look Out For
Many construction and renovation experts do not hide their tender love for plasterboard ceilings.
An expert of the online publication Belnovosti, designer Yulia Tychino, confirms: from the point of view of interior design, owners of plasterboard ceilings, as they say, have their hands untied.
You can do anything with them: glue moldings, embed profiles with LED strip, embed the required geometry and levels.
At the same time, the specialist advises using only moisture-resistant material from trusted manufacturers for these purposes - firstly, such plasterboard is more durable, and secondly, the risk of mold is reduced significantly.
It is worth choosing matte paint - this is the only way you can hide possible unevenness.
But you shouldn’t glue non-woven repair wallpaper to the ceiling to avoid small cracks.
If you join the sheets correctly, they won’t appear anyway, but if mistakes were made, the wallpaper won’t save you.
In the same case, if the interior does not provide for ceiling cornices, it is necessary to serpentine the joint of the wall with the plasterboard - this way you will be able to avoid the appearance of cracks in the future.
