It is worth noting right away that icons can be placed in any room, with the exception of the bathroom and toilet.
It is desirable if they are located on the eastern side of the house, however, this condition is not mandatory.
The place where you install the iconostasis must meet certain requirements - it should not be a walk-through place, so that nothing interferes with you or distracts you while you are saying your prayers.
In addition, it is undesirable for icons to be placed next to a TV or dishes, posters, souvenirs and other interior elements.
It is also worth giving up paintings, clocks and photographs in the area of the home iconostasis.
It is customary to place icons of the Savior and the Virgin Mary in the center, and icons of saints on the sides. Alternatively, place icons of the Savior and the Virgin Mary at the top, and saints below them.
