Niches that don't fit into any interior: don't do that
A niche, which is understood as a recess made in the wall, can be found in any room – both in the bedroom and in the hallway.
An expert of the online publication Belnovosti, designer Yulia Tychino, told us which niches in a house or apartment should be abandoned.
So, a niche that is disproportionate to what is in it will only spoil the interior, so before you start making a recess, think about what you would like to place here.
The so-called labyrinth niches are also not an option – a solution for focal points that involves complex elements with niches and shelves of different sizes and colours.
Often they lack logic and rhythm, so such a composition will be perceived as background noise.
Do not use massive niches constructed from plasterboard.
Experts call such solutions dysfunctional, unsightly and impractical.
In addition, you should not expect that “original” niches in the form of unusual ovals or zigzags will become an interior decoration.
