What cornices should be avoided in the interior: "taboo" from the designer
A curtain rod is an essential accessory in every interior.
An expert of the online publication Belnovosti, designer Yulia Tychino, told us which products should be abandoned and why.
So, never buy curtain rods that are decorated with rhinestones and Swarovski crystals in the tube or tip itself – this love for everything shiny is quite difficult to explain.
However, any tips that have a strange shape will look unsuitable.
Also not worth your attention are baguette cornices or planks with imitation wood texture.
Such a massive cornice, supposedly made of wood, looks at least unnatural.
Patterns and prints applied to the cornice are also not the best option. Remember, the main thing in this tandem is the curtains, while the cornice can only be given a passing glance.
In turn, the first association with string curtain rods is connected with laundry hanging on a rope.
Finally, experts advise against eco-style cornices, forged items under the ceiling, and massive gold accessories in the “expensive and rich” style.
