Dark flooring looks impressive, but it is impractical. Every scratch, every speck of dust and every footprint is visible on a dark floor. Especially if the floor is glossy.
On a light matte floor, minor defects, abrasions and dust are not so noticeable.

There are many subtleties to combining doors and floors. To begin with, you should remember three things.

The floor is the background against which interior items should look harmonious. And their color palette depends on the chosen style. It can be neutral Scandinavian or minimalist, or bright, provocative boho. It is better to understand in advance what furniture will be in the house and, based on this, choose the color of the floor.
For example, for an industrial style, a grey floor covering that imitates concrete is suitable, the Scandinavian style loves light shades without a pronounced pattern, and for a modern classic, dark wood or its imitation is best suited.
Tip 4: Combination with furniture is important
If you already have furniture or know exactly what you will buy, take the time to find out how it will match the flooring. To do this, you can use special programs or search the Internet for photos of similar furniture to see with your own eyes how the room will look in reality.
For example, if the furniture is dark, it will blend in with the dark floor, causing the interior to lose its expressiveness. The same will happen if both the floor and the furniture are light. In rooms with little sunlight, you should not choose dark floors. The same applies to small rooms.
Designers rarely use several colors of flooring in one room, especially contrasting ones. This breaks the uniform picture, makes the room visually smaller. If you still need to zone the room by the color of the floor, it is better to choose a covering that differs by no more than one tone.
