If you don’t want your apartment to look like your grandmother’s, you should avoid purchasing certain pieces of furniture.
An expert of the online publication Belnovosti, designer Yulia Tychino, listed outdated models that no longer have a place in the home.
1. Hallway in 90s style
Dark, rough and clumsy – that’s how interior experts call this type of furniture. Despite the fact that the functionality of modern versions is the same: hooks, bench, place for a bag, etc., they differ from their predecessors in pastel shades and matte finish.
2. A bed with a high and solid footboard
It's no secret that beds with a hard headboard are hard to call comfortable, but you can fix the situation with plenty of pillows. In the case of a footboard, this option won't work - you won't be able to sit down, and you'll get a few bruises every now and then.
3. Furniture in wenge color
The wenge shade is more suitable for a bureaucrat's office than a cozy bedroom or living room. In addition, dark shades make the interior look bulky.
4. Coffee table with stools
A huge tabletop and low seats do not fit in with ideas of comfort and coziness. Such a composition is only suitable for a loft-style interior, and even then it is a stretch.
5. Add-on structure over the washing machine
An open metal shelving unit, although it provides extra storage space for all the necessary things, looks depressing, and those same mismatched jars only add to the untidiness. Instead, opt for closed cabinets.
