An expert of the online publication Belnovosti, designer Yulia Tychino, named the mistakes that visually cheapen the interior.
1. The main enemy that stands in the way of an expensive interior is plastic, namely plastic windows, slopes, baseboards, flowerpots and other elements.
2. As is well known, standard radiators do not shine with style either.
To get rid of the feeling of a budget option, paint them the same color as the walls, and if finances allow, replace the ribbed radiators with modern ones that match in color and shape.
3. Avoid having a single chandelier in the center of the ceiling. Expensive renovations can be recognized by the play of light and shadow, volumes. One light source can make everything “flat.”
4. Want to make your bedroom or living room look like it came straight out of a magazine? Simply replace your wall-mounted curtain rod with a pocket-sized device that's hidden in your curtains.
5. According to marketers, people with a lot of money prefer calm and reserved colors. If you want your renovation to look premium, avoid bright and toxic shades.
