You decorated the kitchen with intelligence and love, choosing the best materials, color palette and furniture for it, taking into account the rules of ergonomics.
But for some reason the finished interior turned out to be uninhabited, bland and boring in appearance...
Is it possible to quickly revive, refresh and decorate it without spending a lot on decor? Of course it is!
Yulia Tychino, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" in the field of design and interior, listed several methods and techniques that will help with this.
The first technique is to place a group of items on a tray of appropriate sizes on a table in the work area or on a table for eating.
What kind of objects could these be? Jars of cereals and spices, all with the same design; a pepper shaker, a salt shaker and a glass for napkins; a jug or carafe of water and a couple of glasses next to it.
This composition will immediately fill the empty space on the countertop and will generally make the kitchen look more residential.
Add plants to the interior, live and green. Small violets in pots, succulents, tradescantia, chlorophytums - all of them, when placed on the windowsill or on shelves along the walls, will make the kitchen beautiful and complement the overall color scheme with their greenery.
If you want to have not only a decorative ornament, but also a source of vitamins, then feel free to grow greens on your windowsill - dill, parsley, basil.
The third way to make the kitchen beautiful will appeal to those who are not very keen on becoming a home gardener or caring for living plants.
Bouquets of dried grains, flowers and herbs will also fit well into almost any interior style if you choose the appropriate vase for them.
Pampas grass, roses, lavender, echinacea, gypsophila - there are many types of dried flowers, and it is not difficult to collect and prepare some of them for bouquets yourself.
Put a nice picture or an interesting photo in a frame on the table. This will immediately make it clear that the kitchen is residential and its owners are people with characteristic interests, hobbies and inclinations.
A wall poster near the dining area would also be good: it will liven up the space and visually separate one part of the kitchen from another. Just don’t use template solutions like reproductions of famous paintings or popular quotes from classics in a frame on the wall.
Choose chairs for the dining table that are unusual, interesting in shape and design. Even if they differ in the type of legs, the curve of the back and the color of the upholstery: this will be even more interesting.
If you already have chairs and they look good but the same, try to individualize each of them: paint the back of one chair a different color, change the upholstery of the second, and add a nice seat cover to the third.
Use textiles. The kitchen will look livelier and more energetic if it has beautiful, translucent curtains, towels for drying dishes and hands are placed on hooks near the sink, and a nice fabric runner or tablecloth appears on the dining table.
Small textile elements such as a mat for drying dishes, potholders or hot pads covered with thick fabric can also visually improve the appearance of the kitchen, so you should not refuse them.
