The new year 2023 has just arrived. This year, many interior design trends will no longer be relevant.

Some design solutions, on the contrary, will be popular.

Yulia Tychino, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" in the field of design and interior, told what will be fashionable in the coming year.

Different colors

From monochrome to saturated palettes, color in all its forms is taking center stage again in interiors in 2023.

While white walls will never go completely out of style, people are looking for more comfort and coziness in the form of unusual wallpaper, warm wood tones and colorful upholstery.

Unusual details

From chandeliers to furniture, you'll see more traditional silhouettes and thoughtful details that will capture the imagination in 2023.

Gone are the days of modern style and simple furniture, and Art Deco luxury is on its way, with decorative wood trim, rich colors, and gorgeous curtains. Go for an accent chair with armrests.

Traditional style

After countless years of understated minimalism, we can finally see the pendulum swinging in the opposite direction.

Traditional design is slowly but surely making a comeback in the form of decorative woodwork and mouldings, vintage-style artwork, romantic silhouettes, rich colours and patterns. The focus is once again on warmth, hospitality and comfort.

Marble details

In 2023, you can see travertine, soapstone, basalt and marble in all shades and colors, especially deep burgundy, pink and deep green.

Think sculptural coffee tables and side tables, statement tabletops and backsplashes, and decorative bowls and vases. No matter what you choose, these pieces look like works of art and are sure to grab everyone’s attention.

Furniture with prints

Upholstered furniture with patterns and prints is gradually gaining popularity in 2023.

While a patterned sofa was once considered a bold, maximalist choice, classic patterns like stripes, florals, and neutral animal prints are now gaining popularity.

Floral patterns

While there's still a place for a neutral checkerboard throw or rug in homes in 2023, the trend is past its peak.

Instead, you can find floral prints and accents, especially on rugs and pillows. Try to combine floral arrangements with existing prints.

Interesting asymmetry

The easiest way to give your home a unique look and be on trend in 2023 is to use a little asymmetry.

Whether you choose different chairs or an unusual shelf, mixing furniture and decor styles is slowly becoming the norm in interior design. Especially interesting is the modern, unusual style with more traditional furniture and decor, creating a pleasant effect.
