Choose the appropriate arrangement

A lot depends on the rational organization of kitchen furniture.

This means that you should think carefully when choosing furniture and deciding how you will arrange it.

1. Standard line.

This means placing kitchen furniture along one wall, with the stove and sink on one side and the refrigerator on the other.

Thus, the hostess is given the opportunity to arrange a comfortable work area. This arrangement is very suitable for a narrow kitchen.

2. Corner arrangement.

This setup involves using a corner to create a comfortable work area. If there is a window in the room, it is reasonable and practical to use that area for this setup.

A corner kitchen will make the space more square, and if there is a window, the work area near the window will look very nice.

3. Double row layout.

This may seem strange to you, but this opinion also has a right to exist, but only if the distance between the two walls is at least one meter.

4. Oval arrangement.

This is desirable and acceptable, but not always feasible. And in this case, the distance between the two parallel sides should be at least one meter.

Again, if you prefer this layout, you will have to give up the dining area and move it to another room.

Color palette

In a limited space, especially if it is narrow, of course, white with accents is very advantageous. For example, with blue or green accents, or you can use sharper and warmer colors. It is not advisable to make a completely white kitchen, erasing the border can even lead to disorientation.

If you prefer dark colors and cannot imagine your kitchen without them, then try not to use dark tones in the upper part. Dark colors are allowed on the floor and from the floor to the work area, but it is not recommended to use a dark color scheme above it. Everything above should be in light tones. Otherwise, be prepared for your space to visually become smaller and narrower.

To make a narrow and long space look square, you can use another design trick - paint the opposite walls in different colors.
A room can be visually enlarged by the color of the furniture, walls, floor, and even the kitchen backsplash.

Lighting

If you are lucky and have a window or windows in the kitchen, do not hang thick curtains or decorate with large, massive plants. Remember, the light from the window should penetrate freely, the light kitchen itself looks visually larger.

Don't forget about artificial lighting. Lighting of the work area is very important.

Another piece of advice: if your kitchen is narrow but the ceiling is high, do not make the chandelier close to the ceiling under any circumstances. Try to make the chandelier as long as possible, but not so long that you feel uncomfortable.

Furniture

Choosing furniture for a narrow kitchen is not easy, and it is probably better if you have it custom-made.

When ordering, please note that the upper part should be light-colored or the doors should be glass. Try to make the cabinet doors open upwards.

If you want to make a narrow kitchen more spacious and bright, you can do without upper cabinets and replace them with open shelves.

It is better to place floor tiles diagonally, this will create more space.

To make the ceiling seem not so high, choose beige or light gray instead of white.

Natural light is very important, the more the better.
