The living room is an important part of any apartment, because it is in this room that the whole family usually gathers and welcomes guests.
How to create the perfect interior in this room, was explained by the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino – she listed the most common mistakes and shared advice that will help to avoid them.
No additional light sources
A living room cannot exist solely with one chandelier located in the center of the room.
To create the right atmosphere in the living room, make sure that there are different lamps: wall lamps, floor lamps, sconces, floor lamps, spotlights, etc.
The rug is the wrong size
A carpet that is too small will bring imbalance to the interior. Try to choose models that will become a kind of "island" for furniture and unite all the items into a single composition.
To prevent the interior from “falling apart”, the sofa, armchairs and coffee table should cover the carpet, if not entirely, then at least half or two-thirds.
Inappropriate place for TV
The best option for placing a TV is an empty wall. However, it should not be opposite a window, so that the screen does not get glare from the sun.
Make sure that the center of the screen is at your eye level when you are sitting on the couch. It is permissible to shift the center slightly lower. An exception can be made only for large plasmas, the center of which can be shifted slightly above the level of sight.
