Lukashenko appealed to the Hermitage's "special authority" general director

Alexander Lukashenko addressed the general director of the world-famous Russian Hermitage Museum, Mikhail Piotrovsky.

The President of Belarus congratulated the addressee of the message on an important event for him – his 80th birthday.

According to the head of state, the name of Piotrovsky is associated with “the history of one of the most famous museums in the world – the State Hermitage Museum.”

The author of the congratulations states: during the leadership of the hero of the day, this institution not only preserved, but also increased Russia’s cultural heritage many times over.

You enjoy special authority in the professional community, the Belarusian leader’s press service quotes him as saying.

The message also states that the hero of the day possesses such qualities as a strong civic position, thorough knowledge of museum affairs and unconventional thinking.

Lukashenko is confident that the work of the Hermitage General Director will continue to be just as intensive and fruitful.

The President wished him health, prosperity and new achievements.
