Dati recalled that during the fire that occurred 5.5 years ago, the north tower was affected by fire. The bells from this tower were removed for restoration.

Last month, the restored objects were returned to Notre Dame for installation.

At the moment, all the relevant works have been completed. The last bell to be installed was the "Gabriel" bell, which is distinguished by its greatest weight - more than four tons.

Notre Dame Fire

The fire in the area of the spire of Notre Dame Cathedral began on April 15, 2019.

The fire was only extinguished after 15 hours.

The roof of the Catholic church was destroyed by fire.

The head of the French state, Emmanuel Macron, set the following task for specialists: to restore Notre Dame in 5 years.

When will Notre Dame open to visitors?

Apparently, Macron's order will be carried out with a delay of six months.

The fact is that the head of the French Ministry of Culture, Rachida Dati, said that the opening of Notre Dame Cathedral will take place in 64 days. In other words, on December 8, 2024.

Macron himself mentioned the same date this spring.
