This advice was given by the brand chef of the Shokoladnitsa coffee shop chain, Khalit Tayrekbyarov.

How to make Olivier salad healthy

As Tyrekbyarov explained, you can make Olivier salad healthier by replacing sausage with boiled chicken, beef or smoked salmon.

The latter option is especially useful. Salmon contains large amounts of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, which are good for the brain and heart.

Salmon also contains a lot of vitamin D, which is necessary for the absorption of calcium and phosphorus.

And if you decorate each serving of salad with a spoonful of red caviar, the dish will become even healthier.

The expert also recommended reducing the amount of potatoes or replacing them with sweet potatoes.

Pickled cucumbers should be replaced with fresh ones, and store-bought mayonnaise should be replaced with homemade mayonnaise.

Tayrekbyarov recommends making mayonnaise using whipped egg yolks with sunflower or olive oil.

To make homemade mayonnaise more piquant, add Dijon mustard, lemon juice and garlic.
