What to Cook for the Christmas Table: Recipe for Kosovo Beetroot Salad

It is always nice to surprise guests with something new on the holiday table or for another suitable occasion.

Especially good in this regard are recipes that do not take much time. For example, the healthy and recognizable Kosovo beet salad with mushrooms.

You will need:

  • beetroot - 1 kg;
  • onion - 2 pcs.;
  • dried mushrooms - 100 g;
  • vegetable oil - 0.5 cup;
  • garlic - 3-4 cloves;
  • vinegar, salt, sugar.

How to cook

1. First, you need to soak the dried mushrooms in warm water for 20 minutes, after which you can boil the mushrooms in this water until done.

2. Wash the beets and boil them in their skins or bake them in the oven, wrapped in foil.

3. Peel the prepared beets, cut into thin strips, then sprinkle with vinegar.

4. Onion – finely chop one head and fry in vegetable oil until golden.

Cut the second one into cubes or half rings.

5. Boiled mushrooms should be cut into strips, like beets, peeled and pressed through a garlic press.

Finally, mix all the ingredients in a salad bowl, add salt and sugar to taste.
