Potato babka is one of the dishes of Belarusian cuisine that can be prepared with anything – ham, mushrooms, or nothing at all.
But the classic recipe is babka with cracklings.
1. First of all, prepare the "cracklings". To do this, cut the pork into medium pieces and fry in a frying pan.
2. When the lard has released a lot of fat, add diced onion and fry over medium heat so that the lard does not fry and the onion does not burn.
3. Beat the eggs in a bowl, add milk, grate the peeled potatoes on a fine grater and add to the egg-milk mixture along with salt.
4. Mix, add fried cracklings with onions, grease the baking dish with oil and put in the potato mixture.
Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 50-60 minutes. Serve with sour cream.
Bon appetit!
