Cutlets with buckwheat groats are a dish that is prepared from meat (usually pork or beef) mixed with boiled buckwheat groats, egg and other ingredients.

The mass is formed into cutlets and fried in a frying pan until an appetizing golden crust. This is a popular dish in Russian cuisine, often served with a side dish of boiled potatoes or vegetables.

Ingredients for cooking

- 500 g meat (pork or beef);
- a glass of boiled buckwheat (no need to add salt when cooking);
- egg;
- onion;
- garlic (2 cloves);
- finely ground breadcrumbs (2 tbsp);
- 1 tbsp. unrefined sunflower oil;
- salt, pepper (add to taste).

Step by step preparation

1. Cut the meat into pieces. Pass it through a meat grinder.

2. Chop the onion and garlic into small cubes.

3. Place meat, boiled buckwheat, egg, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs in a large bowl. Add salt and pepper. Mix all ingredients.

4. Form the cutlets, beating the minced meat thoroughly with your palms.

5. Heat a frying pan with vegetable oil. Fry the cutlets on both sides until a beautiful golden crust appears.

6. Serve the finished cutlets with a side dish of boiled potatoes or vegetables. You can sprinkle with chopped fresh herbs (onion, dill and parsley).
