How to Make Teriyaki Sauce at Home: Goes with Any Meat, Fish, and Vegetables

With this sauce, dishes will begin to acquire an appetizing, beautiful brown crust without much effort.

The Japanese use teriyaki in many cases. For example, in the Land of the Rising Sun, this sauce is a popular dressing and marinade for dishes of all types of meat, seafood and vegetables.

Ingredients

The list of products consists of:

  • soy sauce – 100 ml;
  • water – 70 ml;
  • sugar – 60 g;
  • wine (apple) vinegar – 1 tbsp;
  • honey – 1 tbsp;
  • garlic – 4 cloves;
  • sesame (or vegetable) oil – 1 tsp;
  • grated ginger – 1 tsp;
  • starch – 3 tsp.

How to Make Teriyaki Sauce

1. Mix the first batch of ingredients in a saucepan. First, prepare a mixture of soy sauce, boiled water, oil and vinegar.

2. Garlic and ginger are ground and together with honey they form the second batch of ingredients.

3. The composition of the preparation is supplemented with sugar and starch. The products are mixed. It is important that lumps do not form due to the starch.

4. When the ingredients are mixed, place the saucepan on medium heat and bring to a boil. Keep the pan on the stove for another 3 minutes after boiling. It is important to constantly and vigorously stir the mixture in the saucepan.

5. Strain the sauce through a sieve. Then pour it into a container in which it will be stored all the time.

Cool the homemade product at room temperature. After cooling, the sauce will acquire a thick and viscous consistency.
