How to Make the Most Delicious Meatless Pate: Perfect for Sandwiches, Croutons, and Tartlets

A delicious spread for appetizers that takes a maximum of half an hour to prepare.

The meatless pate is suitable for sandwiches, croutons or as a filling for tartlets.

The list of ingredients consists of:

  • champignons – 0.5 kg;
  • butter – 180 g;
  • onions – 2 heads;
  • walnuts – 40 g;
  • boiled eggs – 2 pcs.;
  • cognac – 1-2 tablespoons (optional);
  • salt and black pepper – to taste.

How to prepare pate

1. Peel and dice the onions. Place the frying pan on the fire and melt the butter, then add the onions. Fry the vegetables for about 5 minutes until soft and lightly golden.

2. When the onion reaches the desired condition, add the sliced champignons and fry everything together for another 10 minutes. A minute before the mushrooms are ready, add salt, pepper and mix the ingredients thoroughly.

3. Transfer the mushrooms and onions to a blender bowl. Wait for a while until the ingredients cool slightly. While the ingredients are cooling, fry the nuts in a frying pan, then crush them and also put them in the blender.

4. Boil the eggs, chop them and add them to the other ingredients. Add butter and cognac. Add an alcoholic drink if desired. Then beat the ingredients until smooth.

5. The finished pate is transferred to a jar and placed in the refrigerator. After 30-40 minutes, it can be tasted.

The pate is very tender, and the nuts and cognac give the spread a special twist. It is ideal for breakfast or a light snack with tea or coffee.
