Fried potatoes are a tasty and complete side dish. However, preparing this dish takes a lot of time from the cook.

The process rarely takes less than 15 minutes. And sometimes the vegetable is ready in 20-30 minutes.

What should you do if you’re hungry, but don’t want to stand at the stove for a long time?

There is one little trick that allows you to noticeably speed up the frying of potatoes.

Preliminary procedure

Before pouring sliced raw potatoes into a frying pan with hot oil, the chopped vegetable should be placed in a container with water.

It is important that the liquid has a fairly high temperature. Cold water is unlikely to speed up the process of bringing the vegetable to readiness. Quite the opposite.

The potatoes should be kept in hot water for 3-4 minutes.

The "processed" product should be placed on paper napkins. Once the excess liquid has been removed, the vegetable can be poured into the frying pan.

These potatoes will be ready quite quickly.

It is also worth considering that preliminary soaking also contributes to the partial "removal" of excess components from the product. Thus, the side dish will be less harmful.
