It is hard to imagine a more suitable soup for the cold season than pea soup.

It has a warming effect and amazing taste.

There are many recipes for this dish, so every housewife can choose the one she likes best. For example, you can prepare a flavorful dish using smoked chicken.

What products will be needed?

- half a kilo of smoked chicken;
- a glass of peas;
- 4 potatoes;
- 1 piece each of carrots and onions;
- half a sweet pepper;
- about 2 liters of water or chicken broth;
- a clove of garlic;
- salt, spices and herbs to your taste.

How to cook

If you don't want pea soup to cause discomfort to your gastrointestinal tract, you should rinse the legume and leave it in cold water for a few hours. Then you'll need to drain the liquid and put the peas in a pot of water or broth.

Then you need to separate the chicken bones from the meat and send them to cook together with the peas to give the desired aroma and rich taste.

When the peas become noticeably soft, remove the bones and add the chopped potatoes. Meanwhile, prepare the frying. Process the onion and carrot in a small amount of vegetable or olive oil. Add the spices, sweet pepper and garlic one minute before the end.

Add the frying mixture to the dish approximately 10 minutes before it is completely ready.

It is better to add salt closer to the end, otherwise the peas will remain hard. Chop the chicken and add it to the soup. Don't forget to add the aromatic greens along with the salt.
