If someone thinks that mashed potatoes are the prerogative of post-Soviet cuisine, they are deeply mistaken. This side dish is also prepared by European chefs, including the French.
Everyone knows that there is no more refined cuisine than French. But it is a matter of taste. We will tell you how they prepare mashed potatoes there.
To prepare you will need:
Peel the potatoes, cut into large slices - they will cook faster. Fill with water and add a cut clove of garlic and one sprig of thyme. Cook until done.
Finely chop the onion, fry it until transparent, season with chopped garlic, simmer for 30 seconds and remove from heat.
Drain the water from the cooked potatoes, mash and add the onion mixture, butter and mix everything.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees, bring the cream to a boil and pour it into the potatoes, stir, add salt.
Grease a baking dish, place the potatoes in it and pour sour cream on top.
Bake in the oven for 6-7 minutes and serve.
These potatoes will go down well with dinner even without meat, fish and salads.
Bon appetit!
