It is the parents' responsibility to instill in their child the habit of brushing their teeth twice a day: in the morning after breakfast and in the evening before bed.

To clean the oral cavity, it is recommended to use a children's toothbrush and age-appropriate toothpaste.

From the age of 8-9, it is allowed to use an irrigator, which uses a stream of water under pressure to treat the gum area of the teeth, massage the tissue and remove food debris.

On the contrary, it is not recommended to use dental floss.

The thing is that cleaning with it requires a certain skill. Any careless movement can lead to gum injury.

For this reason, such a measure should not be used as a preventative measure against dental caries in children.

By the way, you shouldn’t place great hopes on special mouthwashes, which in themselves are not very effective tools for oral hygiene.

The main function of such products is refreshing, which is achieved thanks to flavors that give a pleasant taste and fresh breath. However, the liquid is not able to remove microorganisms and food debris from the teeth.

For reference

Dental floss is a special thread used to clean the spaces between teeth from plaque and food particles.
