Drinking Tea Bags? Beware: There's a Big Health Risk

Scientists have discovered a major health risk from drinking tea bags.

Brewing coffee using plastic tea bags could release billions of plastic particles into your cup, according to a study.

These particles can penetrate intestinal cells, enter the bloodstream and spread throughout the body.

Scientists have found that during the brewing process, polymer tea bags release 1.2 billion polypropylene particles per milliliter of water (size 136 nanometers).

They also release 135 million cellulose particles (244 nanometers in size) and 8 million nylon-6 particles (138 nanometers in size).

Experts identified these particles using scanning and transmission electron microscopy.

The study found that intestinal cells that secrete mucus and perform a protective function actively absorb plastic particles.

And some particles can enter the cell nucleus, which contains genetic information.

In the latter case, the danger is that disturbances in cellular functions and genetic processes occur.

According to scientists, constant exposure to these particles causes very serious problems for human health.

In this regard, experts recommend using environmentally friendly methods of brewing tea.

In particular, it is suggested to use reusable teapots or teas without bags.
