Some New Year's drinks contain components that have a negative effect on tooth enamel.
The chief physician of the scientific and clinical center EUROKAPPA clinic, Irina Kornilina, told us which drinks are especially harmful.
The expert's statement is quoted by RIA Novosti .
First, champagne. The acids it contains destroy tooth enamel, and the bubbles enhance this effect.
The dentist recommended rinsing your mouth with water immediately after drinking champagne.
And at the first opportunity, brush your teeth, ” added Kornilina.
Secondly, mulled wine. Contains acids and sugars that increase the porosity of tooth enamel.
To minimize the harmful effects of this drink, it should be cooled a little, and after drinking, rinse your mouth.
Thirdly, sweet cocktails. The sugars they contain settle on the teeth, creating a breeding ground for bacteria that destroy tooth enamel.
To reduce the risk to your teeth, choose less sweet cocktails and wash them down with water.
Coffee liqueurs are also extremely harmful to teeth. They cause double harm: alcohol and sugar reduce the protective functions of the mucous membranes, and coffee stains the enamel.
Limit yourself to a small dose of the drink, and after drinking, rinse your mouth and brush your teeth.
