It recently became known that a Cuban vaccine designed to combat lung cancer has been registered in Belarus.

The therapeutic drug CimaVax is a development of the Cuban Center for Molecular Immunology.

This was reported by the TASS agency, citing a statement by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Island of Freedom, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla.

The first therapeutic vaccine against lung cancer CimaVax has been registered in Belarus, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed the general public.

It is known that the employees of the aforementioned Center worked on the creation of the CimaVax-EGF vaccine for a quarter of a century.

Cuban scientists say the drug was most effective in the under 60 age group, extending the lives of lung cancer patients.

As for side effects, the developers assure that they are insignificant.

And among other advantages, they cite the relatively low cost of their product.

Currently, the vaccine can be purchased in addition to Cuba in Peru, Colombia and Paraguay.

The United States, the European Union, Japan and Serbia have expressed interest in conducting clinical trials of the vaccine.
