This was reported by the chief freelance specialist in therapy and general medical practice of the Russian Ministry of Health, Oksana Drapkina, RIA Novosti reports.
At the same time, the doctor noted during a conversation with representatives of the press that, in addition to cancer, alcohol has a toxic effect on internal organs.
In total, as the doctor clarified, alcohol addiction leads to the development of more than 200 diseases.
There is a high risk of developing problems with the heart and blood vessels, and the digestive system is also seriously affected.
The doctor added that one should not think that more expensive alcohol or a lower percentage of alcohol strength will reduce the number of problems. This is not true.
