The weather today is such that the roads are practically icy all the time. And this is an increased risk for motorists.
One of the main dangers in such conditions is a skid. It can happen to anyone.
The car loses control. Inexperienced drivers get confused, which leads to accidents.
What to do if you find yourself in such a situation? Experienced motorists have named options for cars with all types of drive.
If the car stops responding and loses stability, you should turn the steering wheel in the direction of the skid - where the rear part goes.
In other words, if it skids to the right, the steering wheel must also be turned to the right; if to the left, it must be turned to the left.
As soon as we exit the skid, we continue moving with straight wheels.
You should act in the same way as for a car with front-wheel drive.
This means we turn the steering wheel in the direction of the skid.
Once the car has leveled out, we continue driving, reducing the gas, with straight wheels.
In both cases we are talking about engine braking, that is, when we do not touch the gas pedal.
As a result, the axle slows down, which allows the car to regain stability.
But with this type of drive, when skidding, you can't even brake with the engine. You also can't increase the speed.
It is necessary to concentrate all your attention on the steering wheel and align the wheels with it until the car returns to its normal position.
