Belarus is hosting a “Car-Free Day”: here’s what opportunity will be provided to drivers in many cities across the country

Today, September 22, an important and interesting event is taking place in Belarus.

It was called "Car-Free Day".

BELTA reports this with reference to the Ministry of Natural Resources.

Events are planned for this day in all regions of the republic.

For example, races will be held in four Belarusian regional centers (Brest, Gomel, Grodno, Mogilev) in which environmentally friendly SPM will be used.

In addition, there will be cultural and entertainment events.

The main venue will be the Hugo Chavez Park in the Belarusian capital. The venue will open at 1:00 p.m. The end of work is scheduled for 8 p.m.

What drivers are encouraged to do on Car-Free Day

On this day, car owners are asked to temporarily stop using their cars.

In many Belarusian cities, people who leave their cars will be given the opportunity to use public transport for free.

But you will need to present a driver's license and a vehicle registration certificate.

On September 22, the right to free travel on public transport for drivers who temporarily abandon their vehicles will be valid in Minsk, Brest, Vitebsk, Grodno, Baranovichi, Borisov, Soligorsk and a number of other populated areas.
