This weekend, the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of Belarus is taking additional measures to ensure road safety.
The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported this on Telegram.
Traffic police officers conduct preventive maintenance work in populated areas and roads everywhere to prevent violations that provoke traffic accidents with serious consequences.
Increased attention is paid to monitoring compliance with speed limits and rules for overtaking and crossing the roadway, as well as the use of passive safety equipment (belts, child car seats, reflectors).
The emphasis is on removing drunk and unlicensed drivers from participation in road traffic.
The State Traffic Inspectorate reminded that school holidays have begun. The State Traffic Inspectorate calls on drivers to be extremely careful on pedestrian crossings and in courtyards, to follow the rules for the safe transportation of children, to take into account weather conditions and the road situation when choosing a speed and making maneuvers.
We would like to draw the attention of adults to the need for constant supervision of children while they are outside, the State Traffic Inspectorate added.
