On the last day of October, a ban on the movement of cars with Belarusian registration within the country will come into force in Latvia.
The State Customs Committee of Belarus commented on the planned introduction of the above-described rule in the Baltic republic.
The State Customs Committee emphasized that the ban will have a negative impact on tourists, as well as on ordinary people who have family ties.
The corresponding statement was published on the official Telegram channel of the law enforcement agency.
The State Customs Committee believes that Riga’s decision is at odds with the principles of a civilized society.
The State Customs Committee emphasized that on October 19 and 20, about 800 passenger cars passed through the Grigorovshchina checkpoint into and out of the Republic of Latvia.
In many cases, the need to cross the border was related to family reasons.
Which vehicles will not be subject to the ban?
It is emphasized that the movement of buses in Latvia that carry out international transportation between our country and the Baltic republic will continue to be permitted (with the exception of those that comply with TS position 8703).
The ban will not apply to vehicles intended for diplomatic and consular missions.
