The State Traffic Inspectorate of Belarus has strengthened control on the roads.
The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported this on Telegram.
In order to stabilize the situation on the roads, the State Traffic Inspectorate is paying special attention to preventing road accidents this weekend.
The priority is to prevent violations that provoke accidents with serious consequences: drunk driving, unlicensed driving, speeding, and violation of overtaking rules.
Crews of the special traffic police unit "Strela" are working on the most accident-prone sections of roads in the Mogilev and Brest regions.
Also in the Brest region, additional raid activities are being carried out by the traffic police units of the Grodno and Minsk regions.
The State Traffic Inspectorate recommends that drivers switch to a moderate winter driving style: choose a safe speed, avoid abrupt maneuvers, maintain an increased distance, and keep a lateral interval.
The State Traffic Inspectorate reminded that all occupants of the car must be fastened. Special restraining devices must be used to transport children under 12 years of age.
