Due to changing weather conditions, the State Traffic Inspectorate of Belarus calls on drivers to be attentive and switch to a more restrained driving style.
The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported this on Telegram.
In the coming days, Belarus is expected to experience pronounced autumn weather with rain and fog.
This type of weather requires drivers to be extra vigilant and adopt a more reserved driving style.
When driving in the rain, avoid sudden maneuvers, acceleration, and braking. Be especially careful when driving through areas with wet fallen leaves.
Puddles should be driven through by reducing speed and keeping the steering wheel straight.
Remember: in cold, damp weather, the road can be wet even without rain due to condensation.
When driving in fog, it is necessary to reduce speed, use low beams and fog lights, do not turn on high beams to avoid self-blinding, increase the distance and lateral interval.
Keep to the right side, navigate by markings, trees, poles, buildings.
If it is impossible to continue driving, turn on the hazard warning lights, gradually reduce speed to a minimum and leave the roadway.
The State Traffic Inspectorate also calls on drivers to ensure that their windshield wipers, external lighting devices, and interior heating and air conditioning systems are in good working order.
The State Traffic Inspectorate calls on pedestrians and cyclists to wear bright, high-visibility clothing and, in the dark, to use reflective elements.
