On September 12, the Latvian Saeima approved in the final reading amendments to the Law on Road Traffic, which provide for a ban on the presence of vehicles with Belarusian registration in the country.

This is reported by Latvian media.

How will the ban on Belarusian cars in Latvia work?

The ban comes into force on November 1. By October 31, cars with Belarusian license plates must be taken out of Latvia or registered in the country. If the ban is violated, the car may be confiscated.

After the established period, cars with Belarusian license plates will be able to enter Latvia only once for transit.

To do this, you will need to submit an application in advance through the electronic services system of the Road Safety Directorate.
