Latvia plans to confiscate cars registered in Belarus

Recently it became known that the Latvian authorities intend to confiscate cars registered in Belarus on the territory of their country.

The relevant amendments have already been adopted and submitted to the Seimas of the Baltic Republic for consideration.

The event was reported on by the Belta agency on its Telegram channel, citing the Baltnews publication.

The latter clarifies: according to the draft law, cars must either be registered in Latvia or exported from the country by October 31.

If their owners do not do this, the cars may be confiscated.

Let us recall that since July 16, Latvia has been banning entry of cars with Belarusian license plates into the country.

Around the same time, Riga announced its intention to make adjustments to legislation that would restrict movement around the country for cars registered in Belarus.

Later, Lithuania introduced a ban on entry into the country for cars with Belarusian license plates.

And in Poland they stated that they are not considering the possibility of adopting a similar measure.
